*update: Bar Experience. The bar was very well equipped, the bartender ( Alex) was very attentive, knowledgeable and efficient. Carlos made sure everyone was tended and had what they needed. Great teamwork behind the bar. The food Experience at the bar matched that of the dining room experience. The bar and restaurant was busy but Alex, Carlos and all of the staff hustled and the food was hot, tasted wonderful and of course left me wanting desert. If you have not visited this establishment, you are missing out. Everything from their service, their extensive drink menu, their delicious "tapas", their creative specials, their daily menu to their tray of deserts is an experience. Come on by, I promise you will not be disappointed. Check out the updated Bar Experience pictures. A hidden Gem in downtown Southington. This is our second visit here and we are absolutely in love with this restaurant. From its eclectic decor, super attentive staff to its fabulously fantastic tasting tapas and entrees....where do I truly begin. The owners ( Rob, is always stopping by to say hello and check in) are visible and make you feel welcomed, my waitress Alyssa was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious. The pictures below do no justice to the flavors that pop as you are eating them. You can't wait to come back. Oh I almost forgot....the drinks....the best Sangrias!!!! Yes! Sangrias...Sangrias!! You must stop by.

(Last visited November 4, 2022.) We heard about a new tapas place that opened up in Southington and decided to take a ride to check it out! Here's how it went and why we need to get back here as soon as possible. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off of Eden Avenue which is a branch off of Main Street is this gem. There is a small private parking lot, but I parked on the street which was free at the time. Inside is wide open and I loved that feeling. It was fairly quiet inside which I didn't mind. The decor was very 1920s speakeasy-ish (if that makes any sense). Red table cloths, wooden floors, black and white brick walls, very classy for sure. The bar is off to the left and the dining rooms are to the right. Service: I can't remember who took care of us per-say, but the owner definitely checked in on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. As a matter of fact, I think once he saw our cameras and phones out taking pictures, I think he actually took over. Lol. Food: We tried A LOT here, so here goes. The Classic Manhattan: Four Roses' bourbon, Dolin sweet vermouth and aromatic bitters gave this straightforward drink classic flavors. Marinated Olives: Black and green olives with Chef Fabians' secret marinade. Olives aren't my thing, but these were delicious when served with some of the bread here. Lamb Empanadas: Served over grilled apple with sweet chili sauce. These were incredible. I'm a big fan of lamb so that could do it. Lol. These were my favorite tapa of the evening. So tender, flavorful and delicious with the sweet sauce. Seafood Spring Roll: The spring rolls rotate out so you may have to come in on a special day to catch these. It was stuffed with crab meat and served over a mixture of delicious sauces! Brussels Sprouts Salad: This thing was BEAUTIFUL and my wife's favorite. The sprouts were actually shaved and shaped into this mountain of a dish and served over like a croquette or something. It was executed so well. Lomo De Cerdo: These are pork medallions served over toasted bread with mozzarella cheese and tomatoes. These were tender, super flavorful, well balanced and also done very well. Sauteed Octopus: It's chunks of tender octopus served with fingerling potatoes, tomatoes, shallots, Spanish paprika, olive oil and sherry vinegar. Octopus isn't my thing, but these were good for what they are. Artichoke Hearts: These were sauteed in garlic, tomatoes, capers and a white wine sauce. Delicious. What can't they do here? Codfish Croquette: These are served over a tobiko and balsamic aioli. They were very basic, simple and made sure the fish shined in this dish. Southington Manhattan: So this place offers many variations of The Manhattan, but the Southington version features Bulleit Rye or bourbon, Dolin sweet vermouth, orange bitters and an expressed orange peel. This was a great take on The Manhattan, but was not better than the original, not worse either. Lol. House Meatballs: These were served in a gorgonzola cheese sauce and were super tender. I loved them and could've ordered many of these along with the lamb empanadas. Value: This place isn't cheap, don't expect it to be, especially if you go crazy with the tapas like we did, but how could you not? There was SO MUCH to try! Our appetizers were between 9.00 and 15.00, but be mindful. Just bring your wallet because this is a place where you're going to want to explore the menu. In conclusion, I loved this place so much. Like, we didn't even make it off the tapas menu to try the entrees! Make your way here!

Coming home from a work trip, my GPS took me to the wrong hospital of central CT to meet my husband for dinner, so we wound up here after handy google recommended it. Definitely a great place! My husband had the scallop entree & I had the ceviche, then we shared a chocolate cake with red cabbage cheesecake frosting. It was really good! We each had a drink - I had the bees knees & my husband had the mezcal of fashioned. Both were delicious & the place was warm and quiet. We enjoyed our meal & headed home. I wish we lived closer because I'd definitely come again! Hoping we have more excuses to head here soon!

We love a good spot for tapas, and we definitely enjoyed the food at The Manhattan! Highlights were the croquettes and oxtail lollipops. It’s always impressive when they bring over the dessert platter so you can see all your options too! Loved the vibe of the restaurant with the lights on the ceiling, it was perfect for our double date! The food came out quickly, and our server was friendly and helpful when we asked how many orders of tapas we should get for 4 people. The manager also came over several times and was very nice. A great local spot to keep in mind!

I was lucky enough to attend the Talk of Connecticut Listener Appreciation Luncheon with the featured speaker Bob Stephanowski. I had the Strip Steak with steamed vegetables on the side,, cooked medium. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned so good, like something I've never tasted before, so tasty!! It was a 5 star Luncheon and a 5 star steak. The waiters, waitresses and bartender are the best on the planet. The owner and his wife are pretty awesome too!! On 9/30/2022 I Went back for some meatballs in an awesome gorganzola sauce and some crab exploding crab cakes, and an awesome band, what a great atmosphere!!

Let me first say this was a great experience. We started with the tapas . I had the seared squid with fingerling potatoes and reduced vinegrette. This dish was so flavorful and delicious. We next had the meat & cheese plate with figs etc...let's just say bomb! My wife had the lobster bisque and she said it was excellent. We had cocktails both were Martini's and they were great. For our entree's I had the seafood paella which was one of the best I had. My wife had the scallops and she had nothing bad to say. Overall the Manhattan is a great restaurant tapas bar whatever you wanna call it I just say go and try it and support local.
